Built for Long, Heavy Work

Our primary strength is machining and repairing long components, including:

  • Long shafts and drive shafts
  • Blast-hole drill pipe
  • Industrial rollers
  • Bearing journals
  • Large sleeves and bushings
  • Weldments and fabricated components
  • Heavy equipment parts
  • Components that are difficult or uneconomical to replace

The two large steady rests help support long workpieces during turning, weld preparation, and repair machining. The 3-ton crane allows us to load and position heavy components in the lathe.

Industrial Weld Repair and Machining

We repair long and large-diameter components by combining welding and manual lathe machining in one process.

Typical repair work includes:

  • Removing cracked or failed welds
  • Opening up damaged weld areas
  • Preheating before welding
  • Rebuilding worn or damaged surfaces
  • Stress relieving after welding
  • Machining repaired surfaces back to specification
  • Restoring worn bearing journals and shaft fits
  • Preparing repaired components to return to service

This process is well suited for drill pipe, shafts, rollers, and other industrial parts where replacement would be costly or cause extended downtime.
